Syria Fundraising Event Sunday 16th July

Wha17311077_1872865782988571_290135316764459279_ot are you doing next weekend?  Sunday 16th July in particular?  We’ll tell you!  There is an excellent day of live music featuring many BTR artists plus special guests.  We’d love you to be there.

This is a fundraising event for Syria.  All proceeds will be donated to Oxfam and will go directly to support the people in Syria.  AS well as live music there will be a raffle, fun games, and various other activities.

The venue is the Oddfellows Hall, Queens Road, Aldershot GU11 3JE.  Music will be playing all day from 12:00-22:00.

Admission is £10 on the door or £8 in advance from patsyjanethorpe@yahoo.co.uk.  Children under 12 free (but donations welcome).

Blue Trouser Records Takes over Farnham for Oxjam, 18th October 2014

Some time ago in a small forest dell surrounded by green trees and with shafts of sunlight glimmering through the foliage, the Blue Trouser Records Committee gathered, dressed in woodland garb and playing pan pipes. After some whispered greetings, the committee assumed silence and to the sound of a slow beating drum fashioned from a tree trunk, Mark Nelson entered the dell wearing a white robe, sporting antlers and followed by a small host of mice, voles and badgers. The committee gathered round and suddenly shouted……… “all hail the blue trouser King!”

Shortly after that strange and, to be honest, somewhat disturbing dream I wasn’t entirely surprised to be invited to a real BTR committee meeting down at The Horns pub. The topic for discussion was Oxjam.

BTR welcomes Kieran Stowell & Harry Baker!!

A warm (2 legged) welcome to young talents Kieran Michael Stowell & Harry Baker to the Blue Trouser fold!

Kieran hails from Bristol and studies & lives in Farnham. Influenced by James Morrison and Tom Waits (among others) Kieran writes and sings about dark and varied subjects such as depression, broken homes and places that bring painful memories, but still enjoys writing the occasional love song here and there. He has a deep smoky voice like Leonard Cohen and a delicate guitar playing technique which reinforce his songwriting style.

Harry lives in Farnham and has only been playing the guitar for 6 years (from the age of ten) yet he is already a very accomplished player. He began playing and singing live only recently and has entertained and impressed audiences locally...
